Autumn watched from an observation point as the USS Independence glided to a halt inside Starbase 375. This was her second security job since leaving the academy - her first had been guarding a rather pompous Ambassador on Earth.

~ USS Independence ~

"Commander Lyla?"

The woman turned around.

"Yes?"

She raised a questioning eyebrow.

"Ensign Autumn Falls reporting for duty."

Autumn held out a padd with all her transfer details on. Lyla took it and quickly skim-read it.

"Well, you are just in time. We currently have a prisoner in the brig and I was trying to find someone to cover the next security watch. I will walk with you to the brig and give you a quick guided tour and then you can take over the watch."

Lyla set a fast pace and went to the weapons store where she signed out a phaser for the Ensign. She then took Autumn on a whirlwind tour of the vast vessel, pointing out things of interest. When they arrived at the brig Autumn was introduced to Lieutenant Rockhound, who was currently watching the prisoner.

"Where you from Autumn?" Lieutenant Rockhound asked.

Autumn could feel both of them assessing her. She tried to imagine what they saw. At 5"4' she was quite short, with jet black hair and piercing green eyes.

"Earth originally, but my family moved around a lot."

With the promise that she would join them for a drink later. Autumn was left alone for her first security watch on the Independence.
